The Annunciation

The Presentation

Luke 2: 22-40

...they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord...(2:22)...Now there was a man(2:25)...whose name was Simeon,...And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. (2:26)

The Wedding at Cana

John 2: 1-11

...there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee...When the wine gave out... Jesus said to them, "Fill the jars with water." (2:1-3,7) When the steward of the feast tasted the water now became wine, This the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; (2:9,11)

The Last Supper

Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-26, Luke 22:14-20

And when the hour came, he sat at table...and the apostles with him.(22:14) And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." And likewise the cup after supper, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood." (22:19,20)

The Resurrection

His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is risen,...Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me." (Matt. 28:3,4,5,10)

Pentecost

Acts 2:1-4

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit... (1,2,4)

The Nativity

"For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11)

Theophany / Epiphany

...In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.... the Spirit decending upon him...and a voice came from heaven, "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased."(Mark 1:9-11)

The Transfiguration

Matthew 17:1-13, Mark 9:2-13, Luke 9:28-36

...He was transfigured before them. ...His clothes became as white as the light. Moses and Elijah appeared to them,...(Matt. 17:2,3) ...a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"(Matt. 17:5)

The Crucifixion

Matthew 27:46-50,Mark 15:34-37, Luke 23:44-46,John 19:28-30

It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun's light had failed; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit!" And having said this he breathed his last. (Luke 23:44-46)

The Ascension

Mark 16:15-18, Luke 24:(49)50-53

And be hold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high." Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up unto heaven. (Luke 24:49,50,51)

Christ the Saviour

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17
